Totally did not know this was a thing. Don’t ask me what I thought for all the years I have been seeing “soft shell” trailers cause I don’t think I was thinking. They always just.... existed.

I had no clue they telescoped back to uncover the load. That's nifty.

It seems like a superior solution to tarping flatbed loads that need protection. Every truck driver I know that has hauled flatbed always bitched and moaned about have to tarp loads. They didn’t like doing it, and either the hourly rate for tarping time was too low, or the fixed pay for tarping loads wasn’t enough for how long/how much effort it took, or they didn’t like having to give away their time as an owner/operator and essentially tarp for free to submit competitive bids for loads.

Your reaction was probably similar to mine when I realized there was a special walking floor trailer for unloading things like mulch.

Oh that is cool. I would have just guessed a dump bed would have to be used.

That’s what I always assumed too until I was at a landscaping place while they got a delivery.
